I am always on the hunt for good anti-aging products when I am approaching a birthday. Recently I found two that I love. The first, is the TNS Recovery Serum. Which smells nasty and is expensive but totally worth it. My skin feels and looks fresh and glowy when I use it. http://www.skinmedica.com/skin-care-products/skin-rejuvenation/tns-recovery-complex
The second, which I cannot seem to justify the cost, is Dr. Sebach’s Rose de Vie Serum. I used this product every day for about a week while staying at Three Rooms which is part of 10 Corso Como. 10 Corso Como carries this product and I would sample this product each time I washed my face. This product is truly a miracle. I am going to try the cheaper Cindy Crawford infomercial Meaningful Beauty version before I make the leap.
I really hate sweat pants and would have never dreamed of wearing them out of the house until I found the Tea Lounge Pant from lululemon. I love these because they have slim profile and the colors are fantastic. I have two pair of the grey and just ordered the navy. I like that they do not look sloppy and fit slim.
I never travel with more than 3 pairs of shoes – even if I am going to Europe for 2 weeks. Last year I becamse obsessed with my Vivienne Westwood Angolomania& Melissa wedges which were waterproof. They were the stylish enough to wear to dinner with a dress yet waterproof so perfect for poolside. .
This year I am buying and packing Givenchy Jellie Sandals. I posted this photo in black only because it shows up better but intend to buy them in nude. I plan to wear them with sun dresses during the day.
I spent my entire pregnancy in Liz Lange clothing and am happy to see there are other stylish options for pregnant women these days. Hatch is a New York based company that makes really fashionable clothing for pregnant women. http://hatchcollection.com/collection/
I also can’t wait to see what Jessica Simpson and Victoria Beckham’s maternity lines look like.
A couple of years ago I was able to score some really beautiful Stella McCartney designed clothing for my kids at Gap. March 5th Diane von Furstenberg’s collection for Gap Kids wil be available in stores nationwide.
I am a strong believer in revamping your workout wear every couple of years. Not only do styles change but your body probably has too. Something that looked smokin’ before baby is not likely so flattering anymore. Recently I have been on a search for exercise clothing that goes beyond Lulu and found a really innovative brand, StyleFirmLA. StyleFirm clothing is meant to help you look better before you even hit the gym. StyleFirm clothing is made with built in shapewear so your body is elongated and looks slimmer.
You can find the firming clothing made by this LA based company at Blissworld or on the company’s own site. www.stylefirmclothing.com. These clothes are a great option if you are post baby and somewhat self-conscious about lumps and bumps that did not exist pre-baby. StyleFirm clothing has a shapewear element that will prevent you from looking frumpy in your spandex. I love the jacket which made my arms look really skinny – is very comfortable and made with a nice fabric. Below are images of my friend wearing the bootcut pants and jacket. She loves the way the pants lift and shape her bottom. The company does a beautiful job packaging the clothing and they look really special when they arrive and that is why I plan to buy these for friends who are trying to get back into shape.
For sizing – small pants and jackets fit size 4-6. Unfortunately, the boot cut pants were too long for me but looked fantastic on my friend’s 6 foot frame. For those of us who are not blessed with her height, there are capri pants and tights.
The price points are very similar to other high-end exercise clothing lines – $102 for pants and $119 for the jacket.
The company currently only sells black clothing – which I think what most of us end up wearing 90% of the time anyway. Would be wonderful if they could do some tights in other colors.
Am loving my yoga and the very non-yogic sport of shopping for it. Recently found some things that I am loving.
Yogarat Hot Yoga Towel – You can buy these towels on Amazon or directly from Yogarat. The towels are super soft – so soft that I used mine for a kundalini class but also so absorbant and skid resistant that I also used it for hot yoga. I feel the 100% microfiber fabric is much softer than other yoga towels (for example, much softer than Gaiam towel). I got the purple one and love the color – was also really happy that the color did not bleed in the wash, like the Yogitoes towels. http://www.yogarat.com/servlet/the-template/yoga_towels/Page Not only do Yogitoes towels run in the wash, they are more expensive. Also, most people pre-wet their Yogitoes towels to make sure that they will be sticky. There is no need to pre-wet your Yogarat towel, it is sticky to start. Have tried other hot yoga towels and feel this one is the best – best value and most versatile.
Yoga Mat Bag – I can fit my mat, a huge towel, wallet, sunglasses and small water bottle in this bag. External zipper compartment is a plus for easy access to keys. Currently on sale for $24 on Amazon.
Some fashion for rocking this winter. I like that these booties are fashionable but don’t require you to rock high heels.
Am currently rocking my own fur stole and loving it.
My children are 5 and 7 so I rarely resort to time out. If I did, I would certainly buy this adorable stool. I love that the sand runs out after approximately 5 minutes so your little one knows when their time out has timed out. Only $69 at Wisteria.com.
